George’s brother Thomas was the local photographer in Fyvie form about 1862 to 1892 and must have retained his equipment and skills after that.
During that time, George had twice had his taxidermy work and his natural history collections on display at major exhibitions in Aberdeen. In 1884 he won a Gold Medal and in 1885 his contribution was an important part of an exhibition in connection with the meeting of the British Association in Aberdeen. Surely Thomas must have taken a picture of George and perhaps some of his work but no picture has been found.
Does anyone know of such a picture? His descendants would like to see an image of George.
